TEFview Free TablEdit File Viewer Overview With the increasing number of songs available in TablEdit format on the internet, it is clear that there is a need for an inexpensive File Viewer for those musicians that don't need the full capabilities of TablEdit. TablEdit is a program for creating, editing, printing and listening to tablature and sheet music (standard notation) for guitar and other fretted, stringed instruments supporting ASCII, MIDI, ABC, NIFF, GuitarPro, PowerTab, Bucket O' Tab, Tabestry and Wayne Cripps file formats.

TEFview for iOS FAQ
When will you make available TablEdit for iOS?
TEFpad is now available. To read more about TEFpad, click on this link.
Any plan for an Android version?
TEFview for Android is already available. To read more about it, click on this link.
TEFview doesn't make any sound on my iPad.
First toggle the side switch to verify that the device is not muted or the volume set too low. If your iPad has no side switch go to the Control Center to check the 'Silent Mode' button.
Then check the tab in the dialog. Set 'Polyphony' to 32, 'Periods' to 2 and 'Period Size' to 64. If your device is powerful enough, you can increase the settings to improve the MIDI output.
If none of the previous tips works, try this if your device has a side switch:
1. on your iPad home screen, tap Settings
2. in the left column tap General if it has not already been selected.
3. in the right column select Use Side Switch to: Mute.
4. go to the physical side switch located on the side of your iPad
and make sure that it is not locked.
5. Return to TEFview. Your sound should be back.
If your device has no side switch, there is probably a third app in the background that retains the audio output :
1. Shut down all the running apps but TEFview
2. Return to TEFview. Your sound should be back.
How can I convert a tablature created for another instrument?
It is impossible to convert an existing tef file with TEFview. Nonetheless, TEFview will use your prefered tuning (as defined in the Preferences tab of the dialog) to import an ABC or XML file.
How to transfer files to and from my device?
See the 'File Management' topic in the Online Help.

A Few Reviews
TEFview [for iOS] is an indispensable tool for musicians ★★★★★
'The developer is generous to give away this very useful learning tool. It allows you to play tab files - you can both see the fingerings and hear them played as MIDI files. It will play TEF format files as well as import ASCII and other tab formats. there are extensive libraries of songs all over the internet, with more than a dozen instuments supported. You can also show standard musical notation.'

Love your program ★★★★★
'Love your program - so glad you are supporting the iOS operating system now! I am using the viewer on an iPad regularly. I am registering mostly to support your ongoing development of the software, though I will use it to generate tabs, mostly for mandolin.'

Thanks so much for this app! ★★★★★
'This is a great app for the iPad, from a developer who really knows tablature and how people use it. I've used Mac and PC tab software from this developer for some years now, and I am confident the app will be improved as comments and ideas on the user interface come in.'
